A 'must do' in Dublin is to visit the Guinness Storehouse! Located in the St James's Gate Brewery that was established in 1759, Guinness Storehouse is the Home of Guinness, where you will discover what goes into the making of each and every pint!
The Guinness Storehouse is in the shape of a giant pint that spans across 7 different levels! It really is an amazing piece of architerature! Here you will hear of the formula that is so simple. 4 basic ingredients - hops, water, barley and yeast and through a series of mysterious processes, Arthur Guinness would turn these into 'black gold.'
It was a really fascinating experience. As we 'climbed up the pint' we discovered a history of Guinness advertising, barrel making, brewing, transportation and sponsorship of sporting and musical events. Then we found ourselves high up with spectacular views across Dublin and a complimentary pint of Guinness waiting for us.....
Watching a pint of Guinness settle is for patient people. And it's lovely to watch. Then the time came to taste the unique flavour of your very own pint of Guinness......
and I'm sorry....but it's bloody terrible!
