Snap it : 'Green'
Our old next door neighbours had the most biggest, most wonderful tree that was home to many birds, including some black cockies! I would spend alot of time on the deck, listening to the 'banter' of the birds! Then while we were away in the UK last year, we got new neighbours....who cut down the big lovely tree.....and put up a big ugly shed. Then the birds were gone......
Then to my delight, just recently, a group of very friendly rosellas started to visit Jacks apple tree!!! Jack isn't too happy they are eating his apples, but I am loving listening to the 'banter' each night! I am planting some beautiful flowering gums to invite the birds back to the neighbourhood! (and to screen off the view of the big ugly shed!)

Wow, those are some amazing birds! First time for me to see them. Definitely would prefer the trees to bring back the birds:)

Love this photo. I wish we had parrots near us. Although we were pretty happy when we heard our first magpie at the hut.
Is this apple tree in your yard (sorry not sure who Jack is) do you have many fruit trees?

I love rainbow lorikeets. We used to have them in mass in our backyard when I was a kid...they were attracted to the palm tree seeds. Beautiful. x

Hi Hazel! Yep, this apple tree is ours and Jack is my (naughty) Border Collie who is the only one who eats the apples! I love watching him stretch up to reach them....he eats the pears off our pear tree too! And he also loves getting the lemons off our lemon tree...but he doesn't eat them...he just barks at them, then rolls in the lemons! He does make us laugh!

Isn't the green a lovely backdrop for the gorgeous Lorikeets? Great shot! I'm sorry your neighbours favoured a SHED over the beauty of nature. I say get those trees in asap!! The birds are lucky to have you!

How sad that the tree was cut down. I am sure you will bring back the birds with your new trees & Jack will grow to love them maybe?!! x
